I love these Diamond Rio kits. The rims on this model are the ones in the kit, but i used a deeper 'rim' on the front "wheels". I also made the front axle into a drive axle, and "jacked-it-up" a little.

I added the Peerless logging trailer kit to this one. I used Testors Turquoise and flat white to resemble an old 50's hot-rod look. The kit is basically box stock with no changes except leaving of the sleeper and painting the chrome front bumper

The West Coast Logging decals are from the Peerless trailer kit. Great kit to build, but very difficult and challenging! I added "baby-moon" wheel covers to the wheels to complete the 50's look.

I buy ALL my 'new' kits through Hobbylinc.com because they are the lowest prices on the net. This is the exact same product, but an "original" from the 1970's.

I matched this Diamond Reo to a 'converted' Fruehauf tanker trailer model that hauls pulpwood logs.

Here's an old photo of the Diamond Reo with logs. The trailer was made from the Tanker trailer Hobbylinc now has available.

I created a set-back front axle by gluing the front springs farther back on the frame, and i cut the sides of the hood off (to view engine) and moved the fenders back to match front axle. I used larger front tires and jacked it up higher. GT Classic Plastic.
