Moebius Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Mini Flying Submarine Plastic Model Kit #101
This is a small, affordable model of the flying sub from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. It's in scale to the huge Moebius Seaview.

This view through the windscreen shows the itty-bitty pilot figure.

I modified this kit by adding a detailed interior. That's bit of a challenge when the model is just over 3 inches across. This interior is my own design and made from cardstock. I designed the details in Windows Paint and printed them directly onto the paper.

Another view of the scratch-built interior. This picture shows electronic cabinets, air intakes and the jet engines in the rear compartment. By the way, a third-party, printed-paper interior for the flying sub is available on HobbyLinc. I just wanted to build my own.

Another view of the interior from the rear. It shows the brown, ballast tanks, the green Lox bottle (front left), and the airlock door to the engine room.

A top view of the interior with the right engine, inlet duct removed. This provides a better view of the brown ballast tanks, the black battery packs, and the landing gear. All these details are made of layered chipboard and cardstock.

Exterior view front. You can see one of the structural members I added to the left through the windscreen. (I really should have blown the dust off before taking this picture!)
