Building this Aoshima 1977 Toyota Celica GT liftback to replicate the one my best friend once owned. This is a nice easy kit to assemble.

My friend's 77 Celica GT liftback was a light tan color. The first paint I applied was Testors FS 3026 Afrika Mustard which turned out too dark so I had to strip it and start over. Finding a close color match to photos of the real car was not easy.

This kit is easy and fun to build. I couldn't find the 1977 Toyota factory color tan at any of the local auto paint stores so I tried a can of Tamiya TS-46 Light Sand that is just a little darker than what I wanted but it works.

It took about 4 weeks for me to finish building it but I wish I had devoted more time to get a better paint job. Overall it looks good as a shelf model.

The white walls are stick ons from my parts box that fit the kit tires very nicely.

Right side view. This kit only comes with a Right hand drive dash and instrument cluster. It would have been great if Aoshima would have included the left hand drive option for US models.
