I used custom cut decals to decorate my zeppelin as a fictional US Navy model. By masking off different areas and using 3 colors of silver spray paint, I created a 'paneled' look for the skin of the airship.

This image shows the painting in progress, with some 'panels' masked off to create different reflective qualities for different segments of the airship's 'skin' just like on the real thing.

This shows the interior with the kit's included LEDs installed. I moved some of the interior furniture around, added some doors and painted up the sides of the front 'cockpit' LED. This was all done to prevent the LEDs themselves from being seen from outside the model windows.

One of my favorite aspects of this model is the 'standalone' lighted gondola. A battery is connected to 3 LEDs right in the gondola itself, meaning fewer wires in the main body, easier maintenance and easier assembly. It is a challenge to fit all of that stuff in the small space of the gondola, bu
