Too Small
I have not built a sailing ship in many years so I started small. The Cutty Sark was my favorite from my teen years but I will buy the larger scale soon. I mean, one could put this kit in a bottle. But the detail is really good and the fit is no problem. The molded sails are one piece for each mast and it comes with ample thread for the rigging. Instructions are clear and the hull detail from the copper plating the wooden planks are fine. It was fun to build but not much for display.
Fun and small.
This is a very cheap model. With the discount at hobby lobby I picked it up for 7 bucks to try as my first sailing ship. It is good for the price. It’s a small scale for a sailing ship, but has a decent amount of detail. The rigging was painful. With such a small scale the rigging as very difficult, and fragile. It looks great when finished, but for a beginner at sailing ships I found it difficult. All in all it’s a good model
Very small and time consuming
I'm still working on it,I don't know if the rigging will ever be complete, yeah it won't. The rigging instructions were pretty vague and it's like soooo tiny when you have bumbling, shaky hands. That being said though, all pieces had great fit out of the box and it's a good time killer while waiting for other projects to dry. Good entertainment for the price.
Fun sized
Loved this kit. Easy to assemble, not too challenging to add the details you wish. Best part is the size, small footprint for a diorama. I used it as a practice for a more detailed kit,
excellent
My husband loved it. It was easy to put together and looked great!
