Neat idea for lighting
This makes a neat Titanic model with the LED lighting kit included. Seeing all the portholes glowing as they did that fateful night. It is not the easiest to get wired and up/running. Mine worked ok but I have heard of some lighting kits not. I do have a problem with the Academy hull design regarding the portholes on “D†deck. Some are blacked out/ not drilled out. As a matter of fact they do not exist in any form. You will have to decide if you can live with this or add them yourself. They are the doubled up portholes one on top of each other. Just look up Titanic hull plans and you will see the difference in the kit. Also the LED lighting is a double edge sword. You get light but it can come out in places you don’t want it. Be careful that cracks and plastic parts don’t let the light through. No matter how I did it a little light came through in several areas. Nice kit over all and if you don’t mind the small problems or the chance the lights don’t work, I think you will like it. Don’t forget to purchase the photo etch set offered here at hobbylinc. It will really add some nice details.
