- From 1964 through 1992, Dennis Henry took 8mm and Super-8mm color movies of and from trains in the Midwest, West, and Canada. These original films (formerly released as a two-tape VHS set) have been upgraded with additional footage and digitally recorded, edited, and reorganized into this 107-minute DVD "Indiana, Minnesota, and Early Amtrak Railroad Memories: 1964-72." The original films are silent and color, but an accurate and personal narration by the photographer has been added to the scenes. The films were shot and edited mostly with Bolex equipment, but they are amateur films, with most scenes photographically good to excellent.
- The action includes vista-dome and trackside views on the route from Chicago to St. Paul, including Aurora, Oregon, Savanna, LaCrosse and the Mississippi River. Features the "Twin Zephyrs", "North Coast Limited", "Empire Builder", "Denver Zephyr", "California Zephyr and other trains.
- Concluding musical epilogue along the Mississippi River in the week before the Amtrak takeover. Chapters include
- Chicago: Illinois Central passenger trains at Central Station, scenes taken from the YMCA Hotel roof. Dearborn Station and the Santa Fe, C&WI, C&EI.
- Rear view from "Danville Flyer" on the C&WI. "James Whitcomb Riley" rear view on the IC.
