Z-37 class
This kit can be built in 2 forms the original build and the later anti-aircraft build which sacrifices 1 of the after gun mounts for more AA guns. The build was okay but it has a lot of tweezer work with the tiny platforms and search lights on those then mount the 2 on the mast was becoming a headache for this older modeler with my big fingers and shaky hands.I was surprised the weights these kits usual come with was missing though the space for them was still there in the hull. The kits use the weights for stability as these models weigh next to nothing and can be sent flying real easily. The kit itself has no moving parts the turrets and gun mounts, torpedo tubes are all fixed in place. The guns do not elevate so pick your pose carefully as it will be permanent. The kit is strictly water line with no decals. The flat plate on which the hull is attached didn't quite fit right and required some trimming to make a good seal. Other than that there isn't much to tell.
Back to modeling.

This was my 2nd model to build after a 40 year pause, my aging eyes and hands prompted me to get a magnifier and tweezers. This has helped. I was very happy to get two models for the low price. The ships went together well, I had few problems. I built one in each version (early and late). There weren't too many parts and I was happy with the detail, I look for ease over detail. On a further note, I actually want to build a 1934a or 1936 Z type destroyer, these are type 1936a mob. Looking at the pieces, I'm quite sure I can rearrange them some and build a ship that looks like the earlier version. I don't know how exact it will be, but for me I think it will be close enough. So, I'm going buying this kit again and make some modifications to the build, so the final ships looks more like a type 1936 destroyer.
German Z Class Z37-39
The German Z Class Z37-39 Tamiya Waterline kits (2 in the package) is an older kit, but holds up to the test of time with ease of build and a nice looking set of 2 ships when completed. They are waterline only so no options for full hull. I recommend this kit. This would also make a great starter kit for a young model builder, due to it's ease of build. Be careful of the tiny parts that are in the kit, there are a few that you will have to remove carefully. Happy Model Kit Building.
2 for the price of 1 'Z' class destroyers
These 2 destroyers served Germany's Kriegsmarine (navy) during 'Project Barbara' which is how they appear here. As with most of these waterline series kits, these are quite easy to build and I found kits this small could be completed in a couple of days. I am very satisfied with the results of this kit. The kit does have some tiny parts such as davits, AA guns and boats which need to be handled with tweezers, but that does not detract from the kit. Recommended.
2 for 1
This kit is exactly what I expected when I ordered it. I has 2 identical plastic models sheets. Instructions tell you how to build either the Z37 or Z39 variation of the model, one having more big guns the other having extra machine gun turrets. I built one of each. The assembly process took about 2 hours per model (unpainted and not totally perfect). These go nicely with the other 1/700 waterline models I own. They are 7.5 long x .75 wide finished
Great bang for your buck!
This model, and Tamyia's 1/700 O-class, are some of the best deals you could get. The cheap price fetches two ships, which is great if you want to practice various painting techniques. The model is sufficiently detailed, the masts are surprisingly sturdy, and the pieces go together well. The instructions are satisfactory and these ships can look great in a fleet. Great BuY. must get
This kit was great.I got two German ww2 destroyers for the price of one. They are highly detailed and amazing. 2 different versions and both fit nicely in a small model car display case. A must get.
Cheap, Fun, with relatively good detail
A rebox, but with two in the kit (which don't have bad detail--I've won contests with these (albeit, modified)) and at the price, they're a no-brainer.
Good Ships
This kit was fun and easy to build, and I'm looking forward to picking a few more up.
