Tamiya Flat Black is an excellent acrylic paint. Tamiya paints are not highly recommended for brush paint but are a superb paint for airbrushing applications. The flat black dries dead flat as it should and has a multitude of uses from pre and post shading to parts that need to be painted all flat black. Great product highly recommended.

Tamiya acrylics are easy to handle with superb coverage because of it's fine particles. The flat black is a multipurpose tool because of the amount of things it can be used for, like preshading, base colour, etc. This product is top of the line, so you should buy this. One con to note is that Tamiya acrylics don't brush paint well.

I have switched to Tamiya acrylics almost exclusively for their quality of finish, non-volitility, and their ability to thin with denatured alcohol. The thinned paints work excellently through an airbrush, but may require a second coat if applied by a brush. The bottles clean very well when emptied for use as a paint mixing jar.

This is one of those paints that you keep lots of because it works well with everything. Need more weathering or some quick shading on a tank? Use this on a brush. Need to paint something black quickly without worrying about the quality of the paint job? Use this. It's a flat color and no one will really notice the bad paint job. I find that this works well with Tamiya's X20A thinner but water and alcohol should do the trick, too. I don't know why you would though.
