The theater is very similar to the local theaters we had in our area. We will be putting it in the back row, since it is so tall that it hides all the smaller buildings. I painted some of the pieces on the splines, which made for a better paint job. I snip and file the burrs off to make the edges smooth. I then organized and laid out all the pieces on my sheet, which I have numbered to be able to find the pieces as needed and for ease of assembly. I made signs of local businesses to place as billboards on the side wall since it is a long wall and very plain. I changed some of the directions- We cut down the inside solid block of plastic on the base and I did not insert the shield behind the doorway. I also did not glue the little movie posters onto the windows, so that the light we have in the theater, would shine out. I had a few pieces left over, but most pieces were used. I still have the marquess to finish with the movies we saw when we started dating- I will print the titles out on the computer as the little letters seem too small for me to work with. Size is as stated 6-1/8” W x 9-3/4” L x 7-1/2” Ht . I changed the name to a local theater. Follow the directions and you should have no trouble - the two tricky area are the marquess assembly (Dry fit and be sure to put the marquess curved flanges in as well as the 4 little plastic shields which have to line up with the top cover slots- extra hands would be helpful here.) and the theater entry doorway and windows need care to line up and install also. I had to put my hand inside the theater to get everything in the correct position. I did paint my ticket booth to help it stand out. Great 2-3 day project. Photos included.

The Rivoli Theatre project, the quality and detail are second to none. After opening the kit to inspect, there was virtually no molding flash, all the parts where straight, and accounted for. The directions were clear and easy to follow, but this project required some skill to construct. Some of small detail pieces throughout and the frontal, marque, walls, and foundation had a very small margin for error. I recommend dry fitting all parts before starting the project. It took some work to get all the corners, foundation, and marque to line up and fit correctly. The marque, frontal, and posters showing windows provide me the opportunity to create some uniqueness to the project. Overall this is one of my favorite projects so far, due to it great details, three molded colors (took paint well), and ease to customize. I recommend this project for any layout.

Nicely detailed building, easy to assemble with easy directions to follow for the most part. Highly recommend to dry fit all parts before cementing them in place. Model comes in 4 color plastic and clear glass, but also recommend to add some painted detail to make your version distinctive and to bring out some of the hidden detail. I would recommend that some detail should have beed added to the large expanse of front wall above the Marque. This large expanse of empty wall looks like some thing is missing even brick detail would be better than a flat smooth wall Typical high quality Walthers' structure and would recommend it without reservation.

Difficulty: Intermediate Pros: A big good looking theater. The design is also good and easily allows the marquee to be lit. Came with movie posters to put on the model, which adds a nice touch. Cons: I struggled a bit with getting the front wall on the model, but I consider myself to be a beginner. Wouldn’t really put this as a con, but wanted to note as such as the picture I posted isn’t as perfect as I would like it to be.

Tons of detail and customization options! Some have even used a tablet inside to show movies! If you got the room, it makes a great addition!

I would have marked this as Excellent, but the instructions were vague and the numbering on the parts was illegible.

authentic looking signage, real old fashioned feel. take your time when assembling.

nice kit larger than explicated but makes a nice center point for my downtown.
