This AMT promo style 1961 Ford Galaxie kit is similar to the AMT 1959 Chrysler Imperial, but it's chassis is slightly more realistic for a one-piece, everything (including the engine) molded-in unit... (ionce you look beyond the 4 screws needed to finish the assembly). The detail is surprisingly crisp on the body and particularly on the hardtop interior. (some hardtop promo/annual kits came with convertible interiors, and still do). On my copy there was a tough to remove parting line between the decorative roof trim and the drip rail and a curious, misaligned seam running across the top of the molded-in front seats. Custom body parts add to the otherwise low parts count. It's truly 'old school' and, if accepted for the vintage style kit it represents, makes a nice addition to the curbside, on-the-shelf genre. Might serve as a nice beginner kit as well.
