The Vickers Valiant was the first of Britain's so called V Bombers. It also had the misfortune of being the first to be withdrawn from use due to metal fatigue. This book tells the story of the Valiant from the drawing board in 1947 to premature retirement in 1965. Though it's career was shorter than the other V bombers, it was certainly an eventful one. Chronicled here are it's exploits during the Suez campaign and later nuclear trials with Britain's hydrogen bomb. Like the other V bombers, it also saw use as a tanker. Many fine photographs are shown throughout. The color profiles are well done and will be appreciated by modeler's. Whether you are a fan of British aviation or building Airfix's new Valiant, this is a title sure not to be missed.
