U-47 G Prien with Interior

This is an interesting model at an excellent price. It almost takes you back to watching Das Boot as you build this U-Boot with the interior spaces. To bad this can't be done on more ships as this is a great way to learn the heart of the model you build, not just the part that gets shot at. I absolutely loved this kit. You will too!!!!

If you're looking for an inexpensive, relatively easy to build submarine with some extra wow appeal, then this model is for you. If you value detail and accuracy, then I would not recommend this model at all. The interior space, which make this model stand out, is woefully inaccurate. There should be pipes and valves everywhere and there are not. There are only three racks for a crew of 44, and they're in the wrong spot. There is no captain's quarters, no galley, no listening station, no heads, and the list goes on. For me it was a huge miss on Revell's part, and I personally got so frustrated with the lack of detail and realism that I completely gave up on the interior, flipped the model around, and I am only displaying the exterior portion. If you want to display the exterior half like I did though, understand that the manufacturer emphasized the interior which means that much detail has been left out on the exterior. Once again, if you're looking for something that is representative of a U-boat's interior, do not purchase this model. On the other hand, if you want a cheap model, and inaccuracy and lack of detail won't bother you, it is only fifteen bucks.
