F-14A Tomcat

I built this in 7th grade receiving it for confirmation from my then aunt. It was not to easy for me and it was a pain at times. I did not have the skills or experience to sand pieces down at time or paint every piece separate. The delta foldable wings were a little difficult, you have to clamp them hard with rubber bands or clamps/vice grips (you can buy on this site) . A lot of cockpit interior is required for pilot and co-pilot. Finally, the missiles and bombs were a little difficult as they kept on falling off the fuselage. But overall huge aircraft my biggest from all my 20 or so aircraft. I would recommend it after you build about half a dozen or a dozen aircraft to attempt this beast

I have two of this particlar model, one is 30 years old and the other is 15 years old. I assembled the first one with the gears down and the second with the gears up.

Let me start by saying that I love the F-14 Tomcat to begin with, so building this kit was a dream. It went together very well and has very nice detail. The cockpit detail is very, very good and the wings swing just like the actual aircraft. Unfortunately, it is tricky to get the wings in, and to keep them in, while assembling the fuselage, but it's very doable.
