Walthers Cornerstone series of structures are all quite good overall. I put this model into use in conjunction with two Tichy Train Group, 36 inch icing platforms for a PFE reefer icing facility. I set this ice house in the middle of the two decks and turned it around. The dock now on the back side became the place where trucks delivered salt, burlap and other necessities as well as tools or any materials needed for maintenance needs or replacing failed machinery. The front dock I abandoned but used part of the awning as the floor at the point where ice exited the ice house and started its journey down the icing platforms, using styrene sheets for the structure. The kit itself is easy enough to build but the instructions are poor, lacking in details for construction so you pretty much have to rely on illustrations alone to put it together. You will want to paint it or you can shoot it with some dull coat, as it is not too glossy and the cement hue is actually pretty good. But definitely paint the add ons; exterior stairways, window frames, doors, tops of awnings, loading dock bumper, roof detail including condenser, condenser lid with fans, machine drive house, vents and other details. I added some piping and other miscellaneous parts to make it more interesting on the top of the roof. The walls have a lot of area so you will want to use an air brush if you decide to paint them. When all is said and done you wind up with a very good looking model at a good price, whether as a storage facility as its original purpose, or as part of a reefer icing facility. This is a good offering by Walthers and is recommendable.
