"Great Hobby Rocket Launcher"
This launcher from Estes is a step up from the entry level Electron Beam launcher. It's just a bit heavier with better wiring and larger clips to carry the voltage necessary for the bigger motors. The D & E black powder motors can be launched by the smaller launcher, but if you plan to get into the Estes Pro II line and composite F & G motors, you'll need this one to ignite the Sonic Igniters. It launches everything from small 1/4A to G80's, so why not get this one and have a launcher that sends them all up. Plus, it's a cool blue color and marked well, unlike the latest Electron Beam offering that is plain yellow with no markings at all. This launcher also has 30' of wire to the pad, which is what you need for the larger motors.....and it's an added safety margin for the smaller ones.

"A More Dependable Launch Controller"
jayjuice7 (Arlington, TX)
I have a number of Estes launch controllers. Others use two or three batteries. This launcher uses four. I have found that it is much more reliable to light my rockets. I use it for all my A through D engines as well as the E application it is marketed for. One suggestion I want to share: when you are not using this or any other launch controllers that hold the batteries, remove the batteries. Battery leakage can ruin your controller. Also, be ready to insert new batteries at the first sign of weakness.
