These are great historically accurate miniatures. This kit works best for a war gamer, as the set has only a few poses of each troop type. Included are the Hastati, which served as the first infantry line in a Republican Roman battle formation. These troops would have been younger and of lower economic standings, armed with javalins and the Gladius. The Velites filled the roll of skirmishers in the Roman army, using javalins to harrass the opponents before retreating to the third infantry line.

Pair it with the sister Triarii/Principes set from Hat and the set from Zvezda, and you got yourself a proper army The Hastati are incredible but the Velites steal the show.

Amazing set of velites and hastatis. These units are vital to forming the first line of skirmishers and the first battle long of the Roman republic legion. The casting is very well done with some very minor flashing this is certainly a must have if you're building a Roman republic army.
