Overall this 1963 Studebaker Avanti Model Kit was very good. Very detailed, and a very fun build. (I sprayed mine Testor's Graphite Metallic). The engine bay was very detailed, as was the underside. I only had issues with some fitment. First, the mufflers were difficult to install, took some time but was able to get it. The opening doors don't fit too well into the body (They're not fully flush with the rest of the body). I also wasn't able to get the opening hood, nor the turning tires to work (Might have just been me for both of those things; it seems others have gotten them to work.) Could also be built custom, and as a racer. I built mine stock. Other than these small issues, was a very fun build. Would definitely recommend!

This is an old-school AMT kit which goes together pretty well. The engine and chassis has nice details which can be brought out.There are a few construction issues to beware of: 1. The opening doors and reverse-opening hood do not want to fit flush once the interior and chassis are attached. 2. the chassis itself is very difficult to place properly under the body and interior bottom. 3. The functional front steering will not work unless you add a little more plastic rod to the pieces that have to be compressed down with a heated flat blade - even then, the steering pieces fit so sloppy that both wheels move, just not together. It comes with a decal sheet that includes the Studebaker and Avanti labels for the body and dials for the dashboard instruments. However, those details are raised enough that you can do a good job on them by dry-brushing a bright silver on them like I did.
