"A Disappointment"

I paid $30 for this kit and was really disappointed when I opened the box. Not many parts, plastic axles and while the instructions had part numbers the sprues did not. There were significant fit issues with the front end, hood and hatch back and the wheels and headlights were really low quality. There are some good points to the kit for someone who doesn’t mind adding after market parts and putting in extra time and work to correct the fit issues. The body had pretty crisp badging and the engine wasn’t too bad detail wise considering the plastic axle needed to go through it to hold the engine in. The decal sheet AMT provided was probably the strongest attribute to the kit, quirky options for a pizza delivery, vacuum sales, brush sales and record shop cars. I gave it 3 stars since it’s not a complete disaster.

For the price i am very disappointed with this kit. No dash decals. Push pin marks on both side glass. Cannot even use them unless you do a rolled down window. The interor is tub type. I really wanted more from this kit. With less parts than average and priced higher than i am used to, this kit is a let down. But i have some parts pak rims and tires i may try. One bad spot on front right fender. I would buy this only if you need a pinto. I guess to keep parts count higher they made the hatch separate, but you still have to glue it in place.

"Do Not Glue THe Interor Tub To The Chassis!"

Whatever you do, do not glue the interior tub to the chassis. The body will not align at all if you do. I learned the hard way, and had to cut it out after the fact. I do recommend this kit, only because there are very few 70's grocery getter model kits available these days.

Okay kit not too flashy fits together nice nice interior.. I was able to detail the interior nicely with decals from hobbylinc engine wiring plug wires fuel line heater hoses wheels from Pegasus 19 in Magnums they look good out of pinto I like drilling a small hole for a radio antenna and putting a pin in it decided to go with testors gloss red it looks all right negatives no master cylinder no turn signal lever no rear view mirror same as the Pauper Pinto but less Parts if you're thinking of this one get the popper Pinto
