"A unique kit to build"

I was not aware International made this until I built this kit. I built an earlier 1980's release of this model by ERTL and the thick windscreen was already pre-cut to size. This is a low parts count model that was not too bad to assemble. No doors or top is provided so the interior is open for viewing after assembly. The off-road tires are very hard plastic with a strong mold and tread. You get an option of chrome mags or painted spoke wheels. Wheels snap independently onto their axles and do rotate. Front brush/grille guard with off-road lights, roll bar and CB radio are provided. Decent engine, drive train and exhaust detail but radiator is not included. One side of the exhaust is a tight fit between the frame and 4 wheel drive transmission. With some paint detailing and patience, you get a pretty decent model for the price.

I was quite shocked to open the box and find no window glass, you do get a piece of flexible clear sheeting big enough to attempt to cut two windshields from. the body does not fit the chassis huge gaps around the door plugs and around the chassis and proof of this is the included plastic strips cleverly disguised as removable top trim, don't expect a top or a bimini, no top in this kit! I went to the trouble of painting the parts and during assembly I quickly realized this kit is junk! one of two kits in the last 5 years I couldn't bring myself to complete, I added some parts to my bin and trashed the rest! I love the old Scouts and Round 2 Models, this kit however should not be on shelves! Use your modelling $ on a different kit, Happy Modelling!
