C-119K STINGER 1/72

What an incredible beast of an airplane and a great model for the legacy of the United States AC- type gunship aircraft (AC-47, AC-119 and AC-130)! The kit is relatively basic. I took it to a whole new level with detailing the interior and other features. Minimal filler was needed and the clear parts fit well; however every part needed sanding and trimming to fit correctly. The instructions are not clear in showing where every part goes, but they are in color so that’s good. About 20 grams of weight was needed to hold the front down. You have to really rehearse the assembly of the fuselage and interior so the two halves and guns sticking out would meld together correctly. The decals that come with the model are good, but I added decals from AOA Decals. Of which AOA gives you directions for many aircraft and the two versions; Shadow and Stinger. As well as pointing out features of the kit that the manufacture got wrong. I bought pewter landing gear from Scale Aircraft Conversions but the kit gear is good enough. I used; Tamiya sprays and masking tapes, KV Models window and wheel masks, AK Hyper thin Elastic Rigging, and HHOW Toys US Army modern figures. Overall, a very fun and challenging kit for skilled modelers.
