HMS Hood Military Battleship

This rendition of the HMS Hood is a reasonably easy build. They do not give a skill rating, but I'd call it a 2 to 2.5. There is some pretty nice texturing molded in to the deck to simulate the wood grain. The kit assembles very easy, with the only tricky part being matching up the fore and aft decks to the hull. Since the assembly of parts is so easy, it allows you to add detail of your own like I did with the antenna and flag line rigging; plus a lot of deck detail can be painted in if you are good with a tiny brush. One thing to be aware of is that this kit was originally offered as a motorized, remote control model, so you get a lot of extra parts for motor mounting, linkages, etc. Because of this compromise for motor operation, there is a large (1 inch long) slot in the aft deck that has to be plugged, covered, or otherwise hidden to keep the model from looking like a piggy bank.
