KV220 Russian Tiger Super Heavy Tank

Another excellent quality and finely detailed prototype tank unit from Trumpeter. The kit's tread system is of the molded sectional link variety, without option of any long rubber strip type. Historically, 2 prototype units were built, the first with the included 85mm F-30 gun tube, the second with a 107mm F-39 gun. I was pleased to see that Trumpeter had included both types of commander copulas used in the kit, a hexagonal one and a round one, I think with the hexagonal one belonging to the earlier 85mm equipped version. As the German advance neared the production area, the Soviets dismounted the turret of the 107mm version and utilized it in a static-position mounting, hastily replacing it with a standard KV-1 M1941 Late production Up-Armored Welded Turret w/76.2mm F-32 gun, with all vehicles/turrets seeing action. Overall, the kit is of excellent quality and is finely detailed, and I would highly recommend it to others.
