"Awsome kit of obscure soviet tank"

Until recently the JS-4 was a little known russian tank design from the late 1940s. Few were built and they were not in use very long either. Trumpeter has done an excellent job of bringing this subject to life. The parts are well molded and fit well. The turret does have a rather tight fit to the turret ring so a little sanding will be needed here. The photo etch engine grills are well done and the metal barrel nicely rendered. Many other smaller details are quite superb. Tracks are non working individual links. This kit will nicely complement other soviet heavies of the era.

This prototype tank kit from Trumpeter is quite nice. The tread system is of the individual link type, with no option for the long rubber strip variety. When initially looking over the kit's box-top rendition of the tank, I found it quite interesting that instead of the usual coaxial light MG barrel normally found, the unit has a detailed heavy MG barrel. For the price, it would have been nice if the kit included some crewmen and/or the long rubber strip style optional tread. Overall, the kit is of good quality and is highly detailed, and I would recommend it to others.
