USS Colorado (BB-45) is the first ship of the Coloradoclass battleship.USSColoradoin 1919 at New York shipyard built, launched in 1921, in 1923.
Then USS Colorado, mainly on training, and participated in various fleet problem-solving exercises.1941 Japanese naval attack on Pearl Harbor a few months, Colorado by the Hawaii returned to America from repair, lucky.In 1942 USS Colorado return to frontline combat, and has taken part in the Gilbert and Marshall Islands, the Mariana Islands and Palau in the war and the battle of Leyte gulf.After the end of the Colorado by kamikaze aircraft suicide attack, was to be evacuated immediately repair; in 1945 the invasion of Lingayan Gulf,USS Colorado and had been friendly fire injury.After refresher USS Colorado participate in the battle of Okinawa, and to assist the Allied forces after Japan's surrender in the occupation of the local, and then return.USS Colorado in 1947, and retired in 1959, except the book sell dismantling.
