Just completed the ship except for the aircraft which I have found to be a bit difficult to assemble since the planes are in clear plastic and it's hard to see and place the landing gear and I ended up using some planes from Hasegawa's USS Hancock. The over build was not difficult, but have to be careful in placing the sides of the hull that hold the flight deck. Also be careful in making sure you can get all the drilling done where the 40mm AA tubs will be attached. I missed a couple of those and just ended up super gluing the tubs to the starboard side under the ship's bridge. I also did my first camo job on the hull narrow tape to mask off the areas for painting.
The only thing I found wrong with the kit I got was that the molded base was in clear so I had to paint it. I used a Tamiya light blue spray paint and sprayed the base from the underside so it would not chip. I also painted the ship wakes in white enamel using dabbing brush strokes to give it more of actual moving look. I also added 2 destroyers as escorts, one on each side. Had some trouble with Trumpter's decals, especially the flight deck numbers as the 3 did not go on that straight.
Would not recommend this kit for any beginning modeler though.
