USS San Francisco CA38 Heavy Cruiser 1942

Just completed the ship and enjoyed the challenge working with the smaller parts and also matching up the parts to the instructions which at times got a tad confusing such as the range finders for the main turrets. The decals were a bit bothersome though as is putting the SOC seaplane together since the parts are all a clear plastic. The decal sheet comes with the hull numbers of 4 of the ships in the class. I took a little liberty with the color of the main decking by just using a dark tan instead of the sea blue the painting guide shows. I do like the idea that there are plenty of extra parts that are probably for the 1944 versions of the ships. These can come in handy for use on other ships if you want to change the armaments or use to replace broken pieces.
