"Cheap price, cheap kit."

I‘m trying to make a collection, so i give it a try on this kit, after i finished it, i was not happy. The assemble is poor, especially the turret with the 37mm gun, i put a lot of putty there. The rest of the kit is average or below. This kit combined with the 1/76 scale, make me decide: no more airfix for me. I put the 2 stars, just because the price dont lie, it‘s accordingly with the kit: Cheap. I‘ll try the Hasegawa M3 Lee, that it seems nothing great at all, but at least is 1/72.

"Average kit"

Although the Lee/grant tank is an awesome tank, this kit makes you frustrated with it. The main reason is because the fuselage is in something like 8 separate parts, and its the first kit I have bought where the fuselage is in more than 1 piece. It fit together rather poorly and my grant turret did not fit at all. To make it look good prepare to use a lot of putty and your modeling knife. I gave it three stars instead of two though because its really cheap and you get what you pay for.

You can build the 2 versions, british or american, of the M3 tank. The kit is not very bad, It is a fun weekend build... A little flash, it is visible that the moulds are old... The only drawback, like all Airfix vehicles in this series, is the 1/76 scale instead of 1/72... They look a little bit smaller... But nothing that much...

I never paid much attention to the M3 until I saw the Humphrey Bogart movie Sahara then I decided I would like to add it to my collection. I found that some of the parts were a somewhat ill fitting and the instructions were a little vague. Over all though I love the tank and I am glad I got it. It looks pretty cool and goes great with the rest of my collection. A little tip on assembling these type of tracks. I you tape them down in place on a flat surface before searing them together it make them so much easier almost fool proof. By the way if you've never seen the movie Sahara, I highly recommend it.
