"Really Fun Kit, some issues"
Led_Zeppelin_Guy
Overall this kit is quite detailed and really fun to build, I enjoyed it alot. The I4/ FWD System were detailed and fun to build. Interior and exterior were about average in terms of detail. Sprayed mine Testor's Red Metallic flake (Personally, I would not recommend this paint. I turned out good, but it was very difficult to work with) . I did have some issues, however. The hood decals don't fit too well, they bubble/ crinkle weird. The hood also doesn't sit flush with the rest of the car. The instructions weren't very clear. The paint guide was pretty off (most notably they said that the engine was red, but if you look at pictures of the car, it very clearly had a bare metal engine). They also had a strange way to assemble the FWD system. They say to build the FWD stuff first on the chassis, and then install the engine. Seemed really difficult, so I installed the engine first and then the FWD stuff. My way worked well. The last issue I had was kind of a niche historical inaccuracy I noticed. The kit claims to be a 1986 model year, but after doing some looking online, the 86 Shelby Chargers appeared to have a fuel-injected, turbo I4. The kit seems to depict the earlier Shelby Charger's (around 83) carbureted, naturally aspirated I4. The kit does include a custom Turbo I4 option, but it's still carbureted and doesn't look like the 86's turbo. Anyways, just a small historical inaccuracy. Even though the kit had some issues, they can easily be worked out by an experienced model. I had a blast with this one, and would definitely recommend it.
