When this kit was reissued I dug out my earlier version of this kit. I had been reluctant to build it as I've heard horror stories about AMT kits. I was pleasantly surprised by the detail of this kit and the small amount of flash. The kit cane together relatively easy. My concern was the windshield and windows should have come in one piece which would have it easier to install. And instead of a chrome piece for the fender emblem a decal would have been better. The engine had so much detail I felt bad for glueing it together and not showing the engine block and the heads. I recommend this kit but not for beginners. I rate this kit a 5 out of 5.

"Great detail"

This is your typical AMT model kit, meaning, great detail to a fault, why not have the back side windows molded with the rear window, but since they are separate why not make them easily positionable instead of just making them to fall in place and wherever they end up is good enough, and where is the rearview mirror or side mirror, I had to find one myself, little things like that are common with AMT kits. With that being said this is a great model of a significant vehicle, I had the pleasure of seeing one of these in person at a car show in Mentor Ohio almost 20 years ago, I will always remember that car. This model realistically and accurately depicts that car. With that being said I deviated in 2 areas from the real car, I chose to put the bucket seats instead of the correct bench seat, and I added the dog dish hubcaps, which I would have opted for and just popped them off for racing.

This was another AMT build that was quite enjoyable, good parts fit and very little to no flash. The main concern which was brought up also be another reviewer is the water pump/lower radiator hose. I ended up cutting my hose off due to the fact that it was routed through the fan blade. Kit has great interior and engine detail although now has no lower hose, which 90% of my builds I end up leaving that hose off anyway.

When I first started this kit,I thought I was going to be disappointed. There was a lot of flashing on the parts, but no more than other kits that I have done from AMT or MPC. The more I got done the more I liked it. The motor has good detail but you don’t have any options unless you dig into your spare parts bin. I didn’t like the fact that you don’t get any chrome rims with this kit, but that wasn’t a big deal for me because I have a large inventory of extra rims. Everything did fit very well and the interior had some good detail. All in all this is a good kit.
