Ford LNT 8000 Snow Plow 1/25 scale

This is a great kit. It has many building options. Not for new builders. Same platform as the other Ford LN 8000 kits but this one has two drive axles that you can swap out on the Ford LN 8000 box trucks. The plow and Spreader can be used on other dump trucks too, like the Autocar dump truck.

AMT Ford dump truck with snow plow

This kit turned out good. However, it is another example of AMT numbering the parts on the sprues, but not referencing those numbers to the directions. Also, they advertise this as having a tilting engine hood; that's not quite correct. They should have hinged it like some of the other semi tractors they have made--would make it more authentic. Overall not a bad production, but would not be easy for younger modelers. I would still recommend it even with the few negatives.

Builds up great!

This is a nice kit that builds up very well with very little flash and pieces fit together well. I accidentally glued my frame second crossmember which is the rear cab support upside down. Ended up cutting it off and fabricating my own support with an extra piece in the kit. Biggest downfall of this kit is that the parts are numbered on the sprues but not in the directions, would be quite helpful to remedy this AMT. Might have to purchase another just to build the dump truck. Would give it five stars if the directions were numbered.
