Outstanding AMT model kit and everything went together smoothly! The kit has really nicely detailed engine that comes with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission. It has one of the best-looking carburetors found in an AMT kit. You even receive an extra one that I already put on another engine. The interior is in separate pieces that went together easily. The best part of the recent Round 2 releases of older kits is that we get better box art, tires, and decal sheets. I wish AMT would offer this model as a 3 in 1 with some wild custom and drag option parts. Of course that would require some new tooling. The options are limited with this kit so I added different bucket seats, wheels, and tires on my model. Keep enjoying building models!

There is the usual marketing hype to hide the kit's shortcomings. I have to ask, is Round 2 being generous by adding extra parts for customizing while removing other parts? I would gladly give up the extra parts if they'd just include all the parts that normally are included in a car kit! For example, the wheels. An open hub with highly visible lugnuts? Isn't something like this usually covered with a hubcap? Especially a classy car like this? Not in this kit! Then, there is the absence of side-view mirrors that I find almost laughable, because chromed parts (#134) are included as inserts, but not the actual mirrors themselves! Even a rear-view mirror is absent. See the box artwork. Final assembly wasn't too bad, but I have a feeling that the chassis is the oldest mold in this kit. It's a bit narrow, because it grabbed the sides of the body, but would not hold. Actually, it's a bit wonky front to back, as well. There is a huge gap between it and the rear end of the car. All things considered, this is a very average release from Round 2.

Engine detail is fantastic. Be careful to make sure the block and valve covers are correct before gluing. They look almost the same, front to back. The front-end wings and suspension are fiddley to fit. Wish you could lower the stance a little. The rest of the model is perfect. Really a great kit The decals are excellent and you get extra! Highly recommend it. I plan to build another.
