"Excellent build!"

I built this same Peterbilt back in the 70's. I like how the fuel tanks are situated on the frame rails, makes the truck look symmetrical. The clean up does not bother me, it just shows that if cleaned up right, the Big Pete will look its best for such an older piece of AMT's great products!

"What a fantastic model!"

I'm working on this model right now. I'm more then half way through and this is by far one of my favorite truck models that I've worked on. The built itself is not easy and you might need to have few building skills under your belt, but the results so far speak for themselves. The Peterbilt Pacemaker is a great truck and you can find a lot of image reference on the internet because this truck is somewhat of a collector's item among people who buy and restore trucks. The only downside is that AMT didn't number the plastic parts right. The numbers do not match the numbers in the instructions and that is probably because they re-printed the old instruction sheet from the 70's, without checking or printing the right numbers on the plastic spruces. I can't wait to finish this model and upload images to my hobbylinc account.

I have to say initial quality was low. More flash than I remember on any kit I've done recently. Poor fit and difficult assembly on the cab. Not for a inexperienced builder. On the other hand, once you fight your way past the tough parts,it does result in what I think is a very nice looking truck. Decent details and room to add more of your own. If you don't mind the extra work this can be a nice addition to your fleet.

I love semis and this is definitely a kit i like it goes good for my diorama of truckers this diorama features many trucks in a yard where they will eventually make their next stop and when I saw this kit I had to add it to the diorama this kit looks very nice and will look even nicer when I get a trailer behind it this kit is very nicely detailed and i love it i might just pick up a second one for the diorama PROS: nicely detailed, fun to build, gives you a challenger, minimal to no flash CONS: Kind of expensive depending on your budget if you are thinking of picking up this kit but don’t have a lot of money don’t stress it cause the Pete 359 and Kenworth W900 from Revell are also just as good but if you do have the money pick it up it is really an awesome kit and you will be satisfied and will do well for dioramas
