"TLP Pershing is challenging and rewarding"
kuririn111111111
For those of you experienced modelers who are looking for something more than 3fnc then this is for you: challenging, sometimes frustrating, but ultimately rewarding. Some points of interest of this kit are: 1. The nose cone is simulated by a forward balsa nose cone and three cardstock shrouds that nest into each other and supported by centering rings. 2. The midfins are cardstock with a balsa skeleton, similar to the old Estes Saturn 1B fins. 3. Instructions say that after gluing the midfins to break them off and reglue them to make a stronger joint. I did not follow those instructions because when I checked the joints they were quite strong, no wiggle, since I used CA to fortify the joints. The end result is a large but lightweight bird. Will upload a picture of the finished product soon.

"Big mistake"
scott_baker68
I finally purchased a different brand of rocket other than Estes. I was so excited because this company has really cool advertising and cool military rockets. It showed up to my house today so I decided to start putting it together. I was Shocked with design of the tapered portion just before the nose cone. It was a 3 piece paper cone cut out, that was literally paper thin. I started with this portion of the rocket because the engine mount assembly was all wrong. The engine hook wouldn't even accommodate a D size engine. As I put the 3 piece tapered section together I was trying to figure out how I was going to hide all the hideous paper joints. As I put the 3 sections together the paper started to crinkle due to the the white glue that I applied. The centerings were difficult to get over the inner body tube. Nothing was lining up. I could see that I was wasting my time with this rocket and threw it in the trash. Really bummed.

"Another great TLP rocket"

It's another great model from TLP. Sad to see so many bad reviews of TLP due to the skill set and complexity of TLP kits. For people new to this brand do some research for videos on construction tips. Estes skill level 5 equals a TLP level 3 - in my opinion. I will be picking another up soon to build it a little different. Keep them coming TLP!
