Revellís (Monogram's) B-24D has been around for quite a few years but despite the age, this kit is still a treasure. This was my first attempt with this particular kit but for those who have never built a 1/48 scale kit of a bomber or big aircraft, be prepared for the size. In line with this, be prepared for the painting requirements (I highly encourage an airbrush or spray cans) and the importance of alignment (nothing worse than getting the kit together and seeing the tail boom incorrectly displayed). Construction of the kit is very easy with good instructions. You can have a field day painting interior detail but understand much of it might not be seen. As stated earlier, painting such a big model will take time if you donít airbrush or spray and aftermarket decals for this model are difficult to find or expensive to buy. I wanted to model mine with the unusual pink or tan camouflage but the decals with the kit are for olive drab versions. Aftermarket kits are still available to really update the detail of your kit but again, if it isnít visible or you donít do something to make it that way, your beautiful work may be hidden. I highly recommend this kit as it will build your modeling skills and it represents a real WWII workhorse. Finally, you better have some room because this is a big model. Have fun.

B-24 Jerk's Natural

Only the third model I've built after a twenty year break. Built a 1/48 B-17 before this and it was not as well made as this B-24. I actually built this kid and it was fun to build it again. I felt it was made well by Revell. It took very little body work to fill any gaps. The only thing that I wish they could fix is the weight problem with the tail. It would have been good if there was a way to hide enough weight in the nose to counter the tail.

Wonderful reproduction of a WWII bomber

This was a fun model to build. Easy to follow instructions and the parts fit very well. This airplane can be finished out in a number of paint schemes based on images from that period.
