This mitre box has made scratch building so much easier. Only had it a couple days so I don't know how durable it will be but I've already used it for over 25 cuts and am very pleased with the results.

Opted to buy a small mitre box for N scale scratch building needs and liked the variety of angle cuts. A few things encountered... The maximum thickness, rated at 1/2, excludes any scrap piece to avoid cutting plastic bottom when cutting 1/2 stock. The blade of the razor saw is an extremely tight fit and while that's normally a good thing, it seemed a bit too much with the item received. Most of the cuts on other stock ended up being almost as difficult as if using a razor knife and metal cutting straight edge. Had a hard time adjusting the pegs snug against the work piece and unless super tight, the piece also moves horizontal at times when cutting simple 90 deg. Maybe part of the issue is working with a non Midwest Razor saw and partly due to limited n scale woodworking experience though never a problem with a full size mitre box. The saw blade was brand new sharp--- Blade movement away from the 90 deg slot easily cut the surrounding plastic creating mini slot(s) next to the actual one after short use. This is the sort of product that should be purchased once so will most likely opt for a replacement mitre box made from material other than plastic.
