Works great as an engine wash to replicate day to day wear & tear on an engine. Profound application can reproduce a heavily used engine.

"Engine dirt wash"

A dirty brown wash that allows you to put dirt and oily grime into the corners of your vehicles, not just in the engines, as some vehicles seemed to be dirt magnets. in my case works perfect even with 1/2 vehicles.

I used in on a model based with Vallejo Air Gun Metal. Applied liberally on the model, it settled into the recesses with out any problems, then i was able to remove it from undesired areas with a makeup sponge. Like the revers of dry brushing. Works great, dries fast, no over powering odder. I ran into one problem, when dry brushing over areas with Engine Grime, some of the enamel was removed. Easy solution was to varnish the model after the Engine Grime Enamel was applied, then dry brush.

I love this stuff! It provides a flat, brownish gray finish that looks like the real thing. Varying the amount of paint and thinner allows one to replicate just a little use, or a lot of abuse. Its a brown tinted color that looks like oil stain and dirt. Very easy to use. Be sure to coat enamel painted surfaces with a clear acrylic paint first. Being enamel based it will loosen up an enamel base color with some brushing.
