"Nice kit"
Paul Reffner (Paul.Reffner@outlook.com)
Got this as a Christmas present and was my first build for 2022. This AMT kit was perfect. No flash, parts fit great, and the instructions were very clear. The rear fenders are separate parts, so it makes it very easy to paint as shown on the box art. The front fenders are molded to the cab, but I just used very thin Tamyia masking tape and was able to easily spray the fenders and different color than the cab/hood. The bed has a nice woodgrain detail that is easy to highlight with some craft paint. I used a Molotov marker to highlight the chrome inserts between the wood slats.

This is a great kit that has been around a little while. Fitment can be a little bothersome in some areas, mainly joining the chassis and body together because the engine compartment is a bit of a pain. And the suspension is a little wonky.. If you take your time and think it out, it goes together pretty well. After you get it together, this will be one of those kits that you will enjoy looking at for years.

"Built Like The Box Cover"

Parts fit well, very little flash, and easy to build. I used some parts from another to add some detail (acetylene tanks and fire extinguisher) and followed suggestion from another builder to use the push bumper for side stakes for the side boards. Worked well. Used a combo of brown and tan Tamiya sprays in very light passes to get a wood tone for the bed and sideboards. Since there is such detail in the engine compartment an opening hood would be nice. I used museum wax to hold the hood in place and still allow removal to look at the engine.

"50 Chevy, cool kit"

Amt’s 50 Chevy was a really nice and the instructions were fairly clear this time. I had an issue with inner fender and firewall alignment, but nothing significant. Used some tires and wheels from the parts box that gave it a cool stance with no suspension modifications. Nice little period 6 cylinder engine. Highly customizable kit. Have at it and have fun!
