1969 Mercury Semi Truck Chrome Sleeper

Back in the days that I was a long haul independent trucker I ordered a Kenworth W900 Aerodyne with an 8 foot stretched frame. Reason for doing so was to accommodate the installation of a berth for hauling my dirt bikes. Before ordering the Kenworth I ran across a guy who had a Mercury chrome sleeper in A+ condition. He said you haul it out of here and it's yours. Served my purpose well and looked awesome I always got good complements for having such a great bike hauler and rig. People had never seen a guy show up at the dirt bike races in a rig such as it was. W900 stretch with a Mercury chrome sleeper pulling a stretch trailer with 100 foot lengths of 24 inch pipe for the Alaskan pipe line project. So as it is in my retirement I got back into model building and wanted to create a replica of my old rig. Found this replica of the Mercury sleeper here on Hobbylinc and now every time I look at the completed rig I get to relive a part of my past that was meaningful.
