Love this kit except for no chrome parts. Used silver on chrome parts and my go to for any rubber parts..AK rubber black. This stuff takes the shine out of the rubber and gives a more realistic look. On this car, tires, blower belt and brake lever handle got the AK paint.

"The Fumin' Fiat Roars Again! - Almost..."

Jim Keeler worked at Revell in 1963 when this kit was originally released as half of the Fumin' Fiat / Thunder Charger Double car kit. (There were also the Sanitary T Bucket / Mooneyes Dragster and Scarlet Screamer / Bantam Bomber kits) It is so great to see Jim involved with Atlantis Models, who is producing modified versions of these kits now known as Keeler's Kustoms. This kit comes with 2 engines, a Ford FE Block 427 and a Cadillac 354. I would rather have seen a Supercharged 392 Chrysler Hemi (from the current Atlantis Skorpion kit) than the 6-2bbl Cadillac engine. (The Fumin' Fiat kit had a Hilborn Fuel Injected Nailhead Buick engine) As noted in a previous review, there are no chrome plated parts in this kit, so your detailing skills may be tested a bit, but with a little research, you can replicate the magnesium color of the wheels, etc, with detail paints. There are also options for chrome finish, such as Revell Chrome Spray, Alclad Laquer or Molotow pens. The technical aspects of kits from this era stem from the early days of Drag Racing, and I think it is great to see this depicted by the present day availability of these early kits. I purchased several copies of the Atlantis Yellow Fever Competition Coupe to kit bash into several versions of one of my favorite Drag Racing cars, the Fiat Topolino. My versions will include a box stock build with detailing (spark plug wires, etc.) a Blown 392 Hemi version (from the Atlantis Keeler's Kustoms Skorpion kit) and a Hilborn Injected Nailhead Buick version (from the Revell 85-4464 '30 Ford Model A Coupe kit) I highly recommend this kit for experienced modelers.

No chrome parts included so I substituted chrome rims, valve covers and blower.I added a parachute and built a wing to attach to the top of the roll cage. Many, many extra parts including a complete second engine.Took some work but was pleased with the finished product.
