Great for painting color Red top coats!
Tamiya pink primer gives you great results, especially for red top coat colors. Works wonders for covering colored factory plastic bodies. Easier to find flaws in the plastic bodies when you use primer. I always buff the plastic bodies with 8000 grit and wash with dish soap. Some of the newer plastic will fish eye in spots if you don't. I spray around 4 away from the bodies and move quickly across the surfaces. Once you master the distance and speed you can achieve excellent results. For years I didn't want to spend the extra money on primer. But after seeing the results that I was trying to achieve its well worth the money. Also if you make a mistake its almost always easier to strip the model where primer was used.
Perfect for models, miniatures and 3D prints!
Tamiya Fine Surface Primer is now my go-to primer. This primer provides excellent coverage. Paint flows onto the surface beautifully. One of the things I really love about the fine primer over regular is how it doesntobscure the tiny details, especially when painting miniatures. If your looking for a primer and you deal with a lot of fine detail, this will be your new best friend.
As usual, not disappointed.
I read in a blog to use pink as a primer for reds to make it pop more, so I gave it a try. The color came out amazingly. The primer sprayed beautifully, which has been the case with any Tamiya paint I've used. If curious about the end result, it's in a gallery for Tamiya TS18 of an 89 Ford Probe.
