This is a great recovery wadding for larger diameter (1 BT-55 or bigger) rockets. It is larger and stiffer than the Estes recovery wadding, which is smaller and softer and works better in rockets with smaller diameters (1). It expands more easily in the body tube to prevent blow-by of the engine ejection charge, and doesn't burn easily itself, which protects your recovery system really well. CAUTION: This wadding can get stuck in the smaller diameter rockets, preventing the recovery system deployment and a rocket prang (crash). Use Estes recovery wadding in the smaller rockets, and this Quest recovery wadding in the bigger rockets, and you will have more successful rocket recoveries.

A bit thicker than the traditional Estes stuff. Perfect for your 2.5 and up rockets (can be a little tight in the smaller diameter tubes). I use a single sheet as a parachute wrap in my baffle equipped rockets for that extra sense of security.

I have found this to be much better than the Estes version, so much easier to use, and it holds its shape better, and crumples into a much nicer shape allowing it to form a piston really helping to eject the recovery system.

This wadding is too stiff. It will easily become compacted in tube and difficult to eject causing failure of recovery device and damage to rocket and a danger in descent.

These wadding sheets are 5.5 x 5.5 and work very well in larger diameter rockets 1.9+. I like them better than the estes wadding for use on larger rockets.

This is more durable wadding as compared to estes recovery wadding.
