Scribing Tool
By: pdm
Scribing Tool- If you need to scribe, buy this tool. I made a few reasonable scribers at home, but this tool is just so much better. A cleaver designed blade , which cuts away plastic without leaving large ridges. I have re-scribed much of the 1/48th Hercules I am currently building, wish i had bought this sooner. As with most model making tools, they are too expensive in NZ , so being able to get them from the states is great - just wish the postage was a little cheaper.
Nice tool with some caveats

This is a nicely built tool with a good length handle. The scriber end is a V profile and scribed a nice styrene curl. The cutting profile on mine was not ground symmetrical. This should be fine for initial, shallow scribing. But scribing deeper will probably show the asymmetrical profile. I may try to touch up the profile on a sharpening stone.
Great Tool

I had a older scribing tool that was just that older.
I ordered this one and what a great improvement. It is shaper with a better design for the scribe end and cuts nice panel lines. Only wish the handle was bigger as is a little in my big hands, would still buy one, great tool.
The best

I have used one of these for years. Actually removes plastic, as advertised, for excellent results. Rescribing is a skill that must be acquired with practice, and often templates are needed also, but this is the best tool out there for the job.
scribing tool
First time buying one and should have done a long long time ago!! Would use a hobby knife and would make accidental scratches, but, no more not with this tool. Perfect for all military models and vehicles to name a few.
Perfect Scriber
Comes with a set of instructions for anyone unfamiliar to scribing and a great tool. I applied some heat shrink tubing over the tool to give it a softer grip. Works great and as intended
Good tool

Good for adding panel lines or fixing them after sanding and filler. Try it out on scrap plastic before using it on your model.
Invaluable tool
Excellent for scribing, but also has numerous uses in scratch-building and diorama building...works well on styrene and resin.
