Don't be fooled by the image shown with this listing - it must be of the prototypes. The actual product has the great looking figure 'statues' shown and painted with the same great attention to detail Preiser always delivers, but the set also features little 'signs' on the base that are actually printed and legible in HO scale! I used all 4 figures on my layout. The knight is in a spooky cemetery (I drilled out his eyes and added red lights via fiber optics as a special effect), the monk welcomes people to my town at the local train station, and the two 'copper' statues are installed in a room in my haunted house kit. For those, I took cut signs from the bases, and put them up above the figures.

These Preiser statues or monuments are very realistic and I'm very pleased with the entire transaction. I can whole heartedly recommend this product.
