Tamiya make a great, user friendly paint for airbrushing. Good coverage and easy clean-up.

Paint to Thinner range 2:1 to 1:1 for airbrushing depending on air pressure, paint volume and distance from subject. Experiment on scrap plastic first.

These paints are also good for brushing by hand...can't afford an airbrush yet. Get the paint retarder by Tamiya to facilitate hand brushing. This slows the drying, minimizes brush strokes, and will appear to look like field applied paints, (German tank crews applied Camo patterns in the field) Also the invasion stripes on Allied planes for the Normandy invasion were applied just a few days before the Longest Day to prevent the Germans from copying them. These were also done by ground crews and were not perfect by any stretch.
