"Good model with some issues"

Generally speaking, this is a average model and not excellent. It is a good model in that there is a small amount of flash, and 70-80 percent of the parts fit good without and sanding or putty. The not so good is that 20-30 percent of the parts have fit issues, and need help in fitting correctly, and some of these parts just plain have a bad design in fitting together with other parts. I got this model for two main reasons, Trumpeter makes good models on the whole that fit together well, and look pretty accurate when done. The other reason is that I wanted a model of this French battleship.

"Interesting build"

The main feature of this vessel is the all-forward mounted main gun system with two quadruple turrets. In the kit, you can choose to have elevating main guns, or the fixed version with the blast bags. Using the elevating guns, the pin which the barrels pivot upon is a bummer and all the guns droop. The fix for me was to use a wooden toothpick sanded down carefully and put in place of the plastic pin. Now the guns remain elevated where ever I want them to be and can move separately as well. The secondary guns seem to elevate okay with the supplied pins. The anti-aircraft guns which are all over the ship, seem out of scale for size, and maybe I'm wrong, but they don't all fit as they should in the locations that they are supposed to be placed, like on the platform behind the stack. I really like how the ship turned out though, because she is a handsome piece when a little time is applied to the paint scheme.
