USS Enterprise CV-6 Modeler's Edition

Purchased this model from a local hobby shop that was relocating. I just started getting back into models after about 20 years off (And that was when I was a kid) This is the 3rd model I have built in as many weeks. First off, opening the package, it felt like quality piece. Just the way everything was wrapped felt like quality. Worlds above the cheap model I started with from the local crafts store a few weeks ago. The trees were really clean, easy to ready and parts needed minimal if any fitting. It was a little hard getting some of the 24 included aircraft of the trees. Incidentally, that's what brought me to this site. I ordered a spru cutter and some other items for future projects. This model was very easy to assembly with clear instructions. Kit also includes masking for the deck and photo etched parts. I didn't use either as I don't think my skills are there just yet. This was also my first model with an airbrush. I was reluctant to spend the money for the gun and compressor but wow. It makes a world of difference when painting. The instructions don't tell you what colors to paint until the end, so it's worth reading the instructions start to finish and planning it out a bit. It's also not very clear that you have to drill holes in the hull for the stand. I didn't realize this until the end but luckily was able to drill the complete model without breaking anything. Definitely would have been easier to do it pre assembly. Great model that now has me hooked on 1/700 ships!
