Cromwell Cruiser

I usually build aircraft, in 1/72 scale, and this was my first foray into armor. The kit is almost no flash and an excellent fit- with one exception. The two rear sprockets (sorry, I don't know tank nomenclature!) have the infamous Airfix sprue attachment. On my kit the sprue oozed into the sprocket teeth. It takes a bit of work to clean it up, but it also makes the part difficult to engage the track. That in turn makes the track stand a bit proud and interferes with the installation of the rear fenders (parts 14A &17A). If you're aware of the problem you can avoid this domino effect. I could have left the fenders off, I notice on actual pictures they are often gone or half torn off. The rest of the kit went together very well. The tracks are one solid piece, so very easy to assemble. Decals are excellent, although the star on the top of the turret is a challenge because it fits over a heavily contoured area. I just trimmed it after it dried to make it fit. All in all a great kit, but some of the parts are tiny, so I'm not sure this would be good for a beginner. I've built quite a few models in the smaller scales and this one has some small parts.
