The turntable is easy to install and works well with HO scale roadbed. The knob on the turntable looks terrible but hiding it in an office or other track side structure could probably easily hide it. the turntable will stop at each track for two turns of thee handle and this can be annoying.

Another great product. Easy to wire in and use. No problems and always is lined up correctly.

Ok this turntable is nice, especially with the motor. I suggest you get the motor along with this to save you time. You have to be very careful when laying track to this or you will end up with the turntable grinding into the track of one of your sidings so measure well, test, nail. Um..You have to be very careful if you use ballast cause if you get it jammed in the turntable... you are in for a fun time. You need I think a special hex shaped tool to take this apart to get the ballast out. I found one in a magnet type screwdriver I had and It now has its own special place that I am sure it will always be. If you do take it apart, do it slowly, very slowly so you can see everything that drops. There are 2 small metal parts that conduct the rails. I made a mistake and one fell out and it was a very, very long time before I got it back in. But I got it as I am sure you will if you need to clean it. This item gives you multiple layout choices as far as sidings and track. You can go anywhere with this. The only thing I dislike about this item, is that it doesn't come with a small office near the turntable like other turntables you see. (like on Thomas. Other than that I love my turntable.

This model has been around since at least 1965 when I was a 12 year old kid. Only the things that are tried and true last that long in the market place and this turntable design falls into that category. Although well type turntables were the vast majority, flat top turntables dotted the landscape employed on secondary and logging railroads and often times were human or horse powered. I do model logging operations and this turntable is part of the engine service facilities and is far more cost effective than building a wye, both in switches and track and in track electrical management. In my case I had to do both because at a scale 65.25 feet it won't hold a 2-6-6-2 articulated logging engine with a tender (in this case Westside brass but it's the same story for Mantua), but a tank engine will fit. There are a couple of steps to take so the turntable appears more prototypical, starting with paint and weathering and including installation. Luckily for me my neighbor is a retired college teacher of math and geometry and is also a cabinet maker. He was able to recess the installation enough such that access tracks are at grade level. A huge improvement in appearance and in ease of laying track. I strongly recommend motorizing the turntable with ATL 304 motor drive unit. Easy to install and you can order them both at the same time right here. All in all you'll get your money's worth and these are recommendable models.
