First airbrush, great choice
After looking at a few options and see the price range from $30ish-$300ish I settled on this brush. Having never used an airbrush before I must say this thing is great. It’s easy to disassemble for cleaning and is pretty balanced. I will caution you though, if you put more than say 3ML in the cup and are not paying attention you will spill. I was trying to move quickly and spilled a little on the cup. You could put the cup cover on there but then you won’t know your out until it sputters out.
Best airbrush I've ever used
I picked up a Patriot 105 after using a cheap airbrush for about a year. The difference was astounding. The 105 is sturdy, reliable, easy to clean, and extremely easy to use. If you've only ever used a cheap brush, the 105 will take a little getting used to. I use mine to paint wargame miniatures. Using the various needle sets available (.2mm, .3mm, and .5mm), you can customize your experience with this airbrush for a multitude of uses, from priming and basecoating, to pretty fine details. The only complaint I have is there is no adjustable stop for the trigger draw. A few other brushes I've used have the option to limit how far back you can pull the trigger to help control paint flow. The 105 relies entirely on the operator to control paint flow. It doesn't take long to learn how the brush handles, but sometimes it would be nice to simply set the trigger draw length and forget about it. The only thing I wish I'd known before I bought this item is how amazing it is; I wouldn't have even bothered with the cheap one I started with.
decent air brush
this air brush is pretty decent. it doesn't appear to stop up easily and for a small needle and nozzle throws a lot of paint so it will take a little practice to get used to. 2 drawbacks I found are, 1 if you are not careful you will spill a lot of paint. 2, the inlet is extremely small and it will be hard to find one to fit just about any hose. a normal sized inlet and vented lid would be nice. also the tip of the needle is exposed, so be
careful
